Scholarly Activity

Scholarly activity is an integral part of the residency experience and is supported and promoted in a variety of ways.

Residents are required to complete a research and QI project during the course of the Internal Medicine Training program.  All research projects must be approved by the program director.

In the PGY2 year quality improvement project teams will be formed to work on a quality improvement project or initiative together. If a scholarly project is chosen in lieu of research, three (3) poster presentations must be presented in a formal setting. These should be submitted to the NEOMEN, ACP, ACGME and ACOI (when appropriate). If accepted to present at the ACOI or ACGME Annual Conference, the Resident is expected to attend.
