About Kent Hospital

Kent Hospital is a 359-bed, acute care community hospital serving 300,000 residents of central Rhode Island -- the second largest hospital in the state.

Kent is a teaching hospital of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and one of the teaching sites for the medical school’s primary care academic program. In addition, Kent is also affliated with The University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, which offers academic support to our program. In addition Kent Hospital provides training in all core rotations for third year medical students from UNECOM and the Alpert Medical School Clerkship in Medicine.

Our hospital is located 10 miles south of Providence in beautiful southern Rhode Island, minutes from great New England beaches.

Kent  is home to a state-of-the-art Hyperbaric Oxygen Program. Inpatient services including Cardiology and Extended Coronary Care, Intensive Care, Infectious Disease, Primary Care, Oncology, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Rehabilitation and Surgery.

Kent Internal Medicine residents complete the majority of their rotations at Kent Hospital. Certain rotations are spent outside at other facilities to increase the resident's exposure to outpatient sub-specialties of internal medicine. Please see the program curriculum for further details.
