Internal Medicine Residency – Kent Hospital

Meet Patel, MD

Biography

Hometown: Anand, Gujarat, India

Medical School: Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin, China

Why you chose Kent Hospital:  I chose Kent Hospital for its strong clinical training, supportive teaching environment and connection to Brown University. It offers hands-on experience in a community diverse patient population, making it a great place to learn and grow. I also felt truly welcomed and supported by the faculty during the interview process—their warmth, understanding, and willingness to accommodate made a lasting impression.

I am equally excited to be in Rhode Island, a state that blends the charm of close-knit communities with beautiful coastal living, rich culture, and easy access to cities like Boston and New York.

What are your hobbies and interests:  When I’m not working or studying, you’ll most likely find me in motion—whether it's in water, on the field, or up a mountain!I love swimming—there’s nothing more refreshing than diving into a pool and letting the water wash the day away. Soccer is my go-to team sport; I enjoy the fast pace, teamwork, and the thrill of a well-placed goal (or even just a good tacke).

On weekends, I trade city sounds for birdsong—I’m passionate about hiking and camping. There’s something magical bout reaching a summit after a challenging trail, or sitting by a campfire under the stars. Nature helps me recharge, refocus, and occasionally roast the perfect marshmallow. Whether it's a competitive match or a peaceful mountain escape, I’m always up for an adventure.
